1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Mahjong Guild website located at themahjongguild.com (the “Site”), creating an account, or purchasing a membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site. By accepting these Terms, you also agree to our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Community Guidelines.

These Terms apply to all visitors, members, and vendors who access or use the Site. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify active members of material changes by email.

2. Description of Service

The Mahjong Guild is a membership-based online directory connecting mahjong players, retailers, event organizers, and community groups across the United States. The Site provides access to curated directories of retail locations, events, social groups, venues, and informational content related to mahjong.

Access to the full directory and all member features requires a paid membership. Basic listing visibility for non-members is limited as described in our membership plan descriptions.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or purchase a membership. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

Vendor and advertiser memberships are available to US-based businesses and organizations only, subject to admin approval. We reserve the right to decline or revoke vendor membership at our discretion.

4. Member Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You may not share your account credentials with others. Each membership is for individual use only. Vendor memberships may designate one primary account holder who manages the account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or otherwise harm the Site or its members.

5. Membership Tiers and Access

The Mahjong Guild offers multiple membership tiers for both players and vendors, each with different levels of access and features as described on our Membership page. Features and pricing are subject to change with reasonable notice to active members.

All directory content — including retailer listings, events, venues, social groups, and informational articles — is accessible only to paid members except where explicitly noted. Non-members may see limited listing previews for informational purposes.

6. Vendor and Advertiser Terms

Vendor memberships are available to US-based businesses, retailers, event organizers, and community organizations whose activities are directly related to mahjong. All vendor applications are subject to admin approval regardless of tier selected.

By purchasing a vendor membership, you agree that:

All information submitted for your listing is accurate and will be kept current
You will not misrepresent your products, services, location, or affiliation
You will respond to member inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Sponsored content submitted for publication must be clearly mahjong-related and meet our content standards
Banner advertising content is subject to our approval and may be rejected at our discretion
Multiple location add-ons are charged at the current listed rate per additional location

We reserve the right to remove, edit, or suspend any vendor listing that contains inaccurate information, becomes inactive, violates these Terms, or reflects negatively on The Mahjong Guild community.

7. Payments and Refunds Attorney review

All membership fees are billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at checkout. Payments are processed securely through our payment processor. We do not store credit card information on our servers.

All annual membership purchases are final and non-refundable. Monthly memberships may be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period with no partial refunds issued.

If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at hello@themahjongguild.com within 30 days of the charge. We will review and respond within 5 business days.

We reserve the right to change membership pricing with 30 days’ notice to active members. Price changes take effect at your next renewal date.

8. User-Submitted Content

Members may submit listings, event information, and other content for inclusion in the directory. All submissions are subject to admin review before publication. By submitting content, you represent that:

You have the right to submit the content
The content is accurate to the best of your knowledge
The content does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights
The content does not contain false, misleading, defamatory, or harmful information

By submitting content, you grant The Mahjong Guild a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, edit, and distribute the content on the Site and in our newsletter.

9. Intellectual Property Attorney review

All content on the Site that is not user-submitted — including but not limited to text, design, graphics, logos, and directory compilations — is the property of The Mahjong Guild and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Members may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without express written permission. Individual members may save or print directory content for personal, non-commercial use only.

10. Affiliate Disclosure and Links

The Mahjong Guild participates in affiliate marketing programs. Some links on the Site to retailer websites are affiliate links through which we may earn a commission if you make a purchase, at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are clearly labeled on the Site.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party websites linked from our Site. Clicking an affiliate or external link is done at your own discretion.

11. Limitation of Liability Attorney review

The Mahjong Guild provides the directory and its content “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that listing information is accurate, complete, or current, as listings are submitted by third parties and reviewed on a best-effort basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Mahjong Guild shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to reliance on directory listings, transactions with listed businesses, or attendance at listed events.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid for your membership in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Community Standards

The Mahjong Guild is a community resource. Members agree not to use the Site or its forums to:

Post spam, advertisements, or unsolicited promotional content
Harass, threaten, or demean other members
Submit knowingly false or misleading listing information
Scrape, harvest, or systematically collect directory data
Attempt to circumvent any membership access restrictions
Post content that is discriminatory, hateful, or illegal

Violations may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

13. Termination

Either party may terminate a membership at any time. You may cancel through your account settings or by contacting us. We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for violations of these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to access the Site ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law — shall survive.

14. Governing Law Attorney review

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Georgia/Paulding County.
